"Oh that is so cool!!". Endlessly fascinating to model railroaders and to non-model-railroaders alike, the DoubleHelix™ is fun to build, enjoyable to operate and is perfect for smaller spaces than most layouts need. The DoubleHelix™ comes in two variations, 2 1/2 laps and 3 1/2 laps which is one whole loop taller.

Two single track helixes connect at bottom and top to make a continuous run. Build your DoubleHelix™ as a stand alone layout, or, incorporate it into a larger layout. No special tools required, the parts simply glue together, perfectly aligned using the included alignment jigs. Add scenery, lighting effects, the possibilities are endless!

Our Design:

• Our construction system uses alignment jigs (included in your kit), making the build faster, easier and more accurate.
• Spacer Block design includes designated spacer locations for strong support of every loop of the helix. Alternating space block locations (inside and outside of the helix) enables better access to all parts of the track for cleaning and maintenance.
• Minimum above railhead height clearance of 2”, or 51mm, which provides a margin of safety over NMRA standards. This ensures the tallest modern cars (autoracks and double stacks) run smoothly within the helix.
• NMRA Standard side clearance of 1”, or 25.4mm. This ensures cars which conform to NMRA standards run smoothly within the helix, not hitting the supports.
• Proprietary “Single Tile” design. Helix tiles are designed to only connect in one orientation which simplifies helix construction.
• Precision cut parts from birch plywood. Engineered to be strong, yet lightweight with better flexibility and smooth roadbed throughout your helix.
• A complete helix in a box that is featherlight and tough as nails

• Comprehensive assembly guide
• Helix tiles (minimum 8 per loop) with engraved track centerlines for easy laying of subroadbed and track
• Custom cut spacer blocks based on specific grade of your helix
• Precision graduated ramp supports for the most accurate first loop
• ¼” Baltic birch plywood base enabling transportability of the helix. No need to build the helix in place. Build the helix in comfort on a workspace then integrate to the layout.
• Precision alignment jig to ensure every loop is accurate to your specific helix
• Track alignment tool to ensure accuracy of track laying
• Entry and exit ramps

Not included:

• Wood glue
• Track and cork subroadbed
