Pursuing the Perfect Helix

On July 18, 2026, Steven presented an online clinic with the NRail Organization titled Pursuing the Perfect Helix. He shared best practices and design tips for building your own model railroad helix, including key factors to consider and an engaging Q&A session. Drawing on his extensive experience constructing numerous helixes and layouts, as well as incorporating new technologies at Precision Model Railroad, Steven provided valuable insights. 

Since first attempts often involve mistakes, Steven encouraged participants to learn from his experiences rather than relying on trial and error. His advice helps beginners and veterans in the hobby avoid common pitfalls in helix design and construction.
